Born in Agawam, MA, Greg Carleton first discovered jazz when his parents gave him a Sonny Rollins record when he was in the 5th grade. This led to him pursuing his musical endeavors through the Agawam Band Program. As a member of The Massachusetts All-State Jazz Ensemble, Carleton has had the opportunity to play at Boston Symphony Hall and the Newport Jazz Festival. Now in his junior year at The Jackie McLean Institute at the Hartt School of Music, Carleton continues his studies with Professors Javon Jackson, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, and Chris Casey. Greg has had the privilege of sharing the stage with acclaimed jazz musicians such as Donald Harrison, Nat Reeves, Kip Reed, and Dominic Farinacci.
Akron-native trumpeter Tommy Lehman had aspirations of being a musician from a very young age, as his mother is an accomplished organist/pianist in the Northeast Ohio area; he gravitated towards the trumpet, following the footsteps of his brothers. After graduating from Akron School of the Arts, Tommy attended Cuyahoga Community College where he studied with Cleveland jazz-giants such as: Stephen Enos, Ernie Krivda, Dan Wilson and Sam Blakeslee. His time at CCC sparked a passion for composition and led to several opportunities to play in the rich Northeast Ohio music scene, and Tommy was quickly immersed amongst some of the best musicians in the area. Upon his completion, he transferred to the Jackie McLean Institute at the Hartt School of Music, which is where he now resides and studies with Freddie Hendrix, Javon Jackson and Steve Davis. Tommy has shared the stage with jazz notables Dominick Farinacci, Donald Harrison, Janis Seigel, Curtis Taylor, Kip Reed, Bobby Selvaggio and Gerald Clayton.
Born and raised in Cheshire, CT, a small suburb of New Haven, Josh Uguccioni was exposed to many different musical styles at a young age. Beginning on both trombone, tuba and electric bass, Uguccioni gained familiarity playing in various musical settings. He began taking lessons on electric bass from local guitar teacher, Steve Famiglietti. It was not until early high school that Uguccioni started to play double bass. Once Uguccioni fully switched to double bass, he quickly excelled in the high school orchestra and jazz band along with other local youth big bands and small ensembles. Uguccioni began to take private lessons with Jeff Fuller, New Haven bassist and graduate of Yale’s School of Music. Cheshire High School's Jazz band and other local youth bands allowed Uguccioni opportunities to play with a multitude of professional musicians including, Terell Stafford, Steve Davis, Dick Oatts, and Gary Dial. Uguccioni went on to pursue his musical endeavors at the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School of Music. The Jackie McLean Institute provided valuable insight from several highly acclaimed professionals including, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, Eric McPherson, Abraham Burton and Javon Jackson. Uguccioni has played/ recorded at several notable venues including, Side Door Jazz Club, Daryl’s House, Infinity Hall, and Converse Rubber Tracks Studio.
Born and raised in Queens, New York, percussionist and composer Corey Garcia has been immersed in the New York jazz scene from a very young age. Corey is a graduate of LaGuardia High School,where he studied classical and jazz percussion. He currently studies jazz percussion at the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School in Hartford, Ct. Garcia has had the privilege of studying under and/or performing with distinguished instrumentalists such as Eric McPherson, Abraham Burton, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, and Javon Jackson. In 2012 Garcia performed at the United Nations and Tweed Courthouse with a combo assembled by the Thelonious Monk Institute. Garcia has performed at other notable venues in the Northeast, including Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, The Side Door, and seeds::brooklyn.
